I know that looking at oneself would require a bit of an introspective tendency and a smattering of curiosity and self-awareness, things that W does not seem to posess. That choice of phrase was just rhetoric, as I realize that I'm imploring him to do something that he is incapable of doing.
Also, being a "cocksmoker" is not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, I think it's one of the nicest things one person can do for another (in a consensual context).
