Dead ducks

I shot a couple of mallards this past saturday, a drake and a suzie. I might have killed a wood duck in a scotch double on that suzie, but it was a strange situation. Ed shot at a duck and thought he was behind it, then I was on that suzie a fraction of a second later dead bang. We both only saw one duck come to us, but after we shot we heard two splashes. I have no idea how that happened, but there were two birds down. Ed said "scotch double" a couple of times, but the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that we were actually shooting at different ducks. Strangeness.

Busted Duck hunt

Went out last weekend to kill ducks. Blue skies, warm temp. That SUCKS! Didn't get a shot, but the area we went to looks promising. I think it will be very good when the weather turns and the migrant birds come in. We'll also have to get out there a little earlier. Left Ed's at 3:30, but some guys beat us to the spot he had scouted out by about 1/2 and hour. I think I have him convinced to leave earlier this Saturday.

I just saw something scary

Here's a headline on MSNBC:

DAMAGE CONTROL: Homeland Security would manage U.S. bird flu crisis [emphasis added]

They couldn't manage a few states. How the hell can they manage the entire nation?

Honk!
