Degenerate gambler makes good

I attended a sit 'n' go night last sat at "The Loft" (which no longer exists, but the games have moved). Anyhow, NLHE, $20 buy-in, face value in chips, blinds start at .25/.50 and double every 13 minutes. I got there a bit late, missed the first game, but managed to CRUSH the games I was in. People seemed to be timid for the most part, except one guy who was just nuts. I was making good calls for the most part, and being ultra pushy. I believe that you have to with blinds going up so quickly. In the 3 games I played, I managed to build up my stack about $10 through standard play (always raise when opening the pot, 3-5X the big blind), then get really pushy against the below average stacks. After doing this a few times, they'd either be short stacked or tilting and pushing back with marginal crap. Once it became clear that they were playing in desperation mode, I'd just wait for a decent hand, push a bit, and hope for a push back. Fortunately for me, they obliged, and I got to say bu-bye to them. I got lucky with Mr. Nuts-o, when my A5s beat QQ. I opened for a standard raise, he went all in, and I called with a big stack for about 1/3 of my chips. I just knew I was beat when I called, but for some reason I didn't put him on aces (glad I was right). I wanted him gone and figured I had at least 1 overcard to what I thought was a mid-low pair, so I decided to gamb00l it up. He was definitely a guy I didn't want around, as he was a LAgg. Those are the ones that push on you and get a lot of suckouts before busting, taking a couple of folks with them. They're very dangerous to me (hell, everyone) in the short term, so I felt that a mid-range risk with mid-range cards for a chane to knock him out was appropriate. Lucky for me I sucked out.
Anyhow, it was a good time. Played 3 games, placed 1-2-1. Yippie!
I'm also playing a two table $25 tourney (NLHE again) tomorrow night. I got an invite from one of the bar league guys. There should be a couple of league regulars, with a bunch of random folks. I'm looking forward to it.

Now, for a random bitch - why is it always NLHE? Don't people play other poker? How about some 7 stud, or Omaha, either standard or high/low? Maybe a HORSE (NL [H]old 'em, [O]maha, [R]azz, 7 card [S]tud, Omaha high/low [Eight] or better) tourney? I'll just have to start something if I want to do this in a live game.
